Racine Hazardous Material Response Team
Racine’s Regional Response Team gave a presentation on their Hazardous Materials Response program and a tour of their Tactical Command vehicle to members of the Tri-County Public Health Consortium on 4/16/07. The Racine Regional Response Team is one of eight “level A” Hazardous Materials Response Teams designated by the state of Wisconsin to provide assistance in hazardous materials emergencies. Their local jurisdiction consists of counties of Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth, as well as part of Jefferson County.

Mass Clinic Exercises

On 3/27/07, the Kenosha County Division of Health conducted a Mass Clinic Functional Exercise at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Sports and Activity Center. The main focus of this exercise was to test KCDOH’s Mass Clinic Plan and staff capabilities in establishing and conducting a mass vaccination clinic, as well as clinic security in coordination with UW-Parkside Police, the Kenosha Police Department, and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

The Walworth County Public Health Department was the site of a Mass Clinic Functional Exercise on 11/30/06 that was organized and planned by member agencies of the Tri-County Public Health Consortium. The purpose of the exercise was to test the employees of the member agencies in the command and control, communication, public information, and health and medical functions of a mass clinic using a simulated anthrax scenario.

The Tri-County Public Health Consortium held a Mass Clinic Functional Exercise on 11/29/05 at the Racine Civic Center. The Exercise was designed to test the member agencies' staff knowledge of operating a mass clinic to provide prophylaxis to a targeted population.

Members of the Tri-County Public Health Consortium became certified to test for the proper fitting of particulate respirators that may be used to protect personnel from exposure to communicable diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB).
